Some photographers say they compose by what \u201cfeels right.\u201d However, I would argue that even the best photographers don\u2019t compose soley by \u201cfeel\u201d,\u00a0they dig into their bag of creative tricks and use specific methods and ideas that have worked for them in the past.<\/p>\n

As you add more techniques to your creative bag of tricks, you increase the level of style and variation to your compositions. In time, your skills will improve, and you\u2019ll be able to quickly gauge a scene, dig into your bag of tricks and pull out the ones that \u201cfeels right\u201d for that particular subject.<\/p>\n

Most of the photos I’ve had published over the years have been created\u00a0with at least one of these methods. In fact, I would venture to say that these creative methods have driven my career and my style during the past two decades.<\/p>\n

In each lesson, I\u2019ll briefly show you how I use each one, and then challenge you to go out and try them yourself. In the end,\u00a0it’s really\u00a0just a not-so-clever excuse to make you pick it up your camera and shoot more photos, at least for the 7 days of this creative challenge, but I ask you, is that a bad thing?<\/p>\n

Sometimes a little targeted motivation is all it takes to jump start your creativity.<\/strong>\u00a0That’s what I plan to give you. Hopefully my insight will inspire you to keep going beyond just the 7 days\u00a0and explore some new techniques that can help you rise to a new plateau in your photography.<\/p>\n
