If you listen to my album “Up Higher,” you might notice that I there are generally two kinds of songs I seem to write: Love songs, and “how do we deal with the messed up world” songs.
I’ve apparently decided that I don’t want to write those kinds of songs these days, so once again, I’m proud to announced the release of my latest love song, called I Just Want You.
This one’s a little different than my other recent songs; a little more mellow and soulful. I think there’s some Lucinda Williams influence in there, or John Hiatt in his Sonny Landreth years. Maybe even the Bros. Landreth… (Oddly, no relation.)
It features a nice, juicy electric piano as the main instrument, with a slide guitar solo in the middle, probably the slowest solo I’ve ever played on one of my tracks. And I really like the bass part.
Overall, the track sounds great in headphones, so I hope you enjoy it!
You can listen to the song on all the streaming services, including Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music and Amazon Music.
