Sometimes it’s all about the eyes. My latest rock and roll love song, Color Changing Eyes, tells the story of that alluring girl who draws you right in with her captivating holographic gaze. We’ve all met her before, right? With an audio tapestry of chunky guitars and a slightly funky beat that dances between regular

I’m excited to announce the release of my latest track, called “That’s Alright.” This one reminds me of The Cars. Or The Killers, or else it’s the bridge between the two. Who’s to say? Lots of chunky guitar and sharp, smart synth lines, here… again, a-la Greg Hawkes, or at least I’d like to think

I’m excited to announce the release of my latest track, called This Aquatic Romance, en epic love song with a mythical theme and lots of layered guitars, synthesizers and background vocals. If you listen to my album “Up Higher,” you might notice that I there are generally two kinds of songs I seem to write: Love songs, and “how do we deal with the messed up world” songs. I’ve apparently decided that I don’t want to write those kinds of songs these days, so once again,

My latest rock and roll love song, released today, is called “You Already Knew.” A classic tale, it plays on the age-old trope of the boy who tries to hide that he likes a certain girl, only to discover that she already knew. Yea. We’ve all lived that tale in real life, right? You Already

We just completed another circuit around the sun, which means I’m another year older, wiser, more rambunctious, and even more dedicated toward making time for the important things in life, like playing music. Although I didn’t post very often here on my music blog during 2022, (I tend to be much more active on my

Last fall, near the beginning of my season-long, PT inspired, music gear buying binge, I made an “out of character” purchase that ended up being one of my favorite and most-used creative tools of the year. It was the MASCHINE Mikro MK3, by Native Instruments. I’ve used a few Native Instruments plugins over the years,

In a recent post, I mentioned that I had opened the lid to the rabbit hole of synthesizers with the purchase of my first hardware synth, the Uno Synth Pro by IK Multimedia. The Uno Synth Pro is indeed an awesome instrument; it sounds incredible, and the desktop version is very small and compact. Also,

I’m excited to announce that I have a brand new single coming out in April, called Interstellar Love Song. A modern rock love song that crosses the bounds of space, time and pop culture references, this fun, upbeat track features a thick bed of buzzy, delay-soaked synthesizers, a catchy chorus and lots of guitars. Fueled

Even though I’m primarily a guitar player, I’m a child of the 70s and 80s, which means that I grew with plenty of synthesizer sounds in my young, impressionable ears. From progressive bands like Pink Floyd, Yes, The Who, E.L.P., and Rush, too pop artists, like The Cars, Gary Numan, and his awesome song “Are
