I titled the shot “New Growth Springs from Old Growth.” This photograph is one of my greatest inspirations to this day. The metaphor reminds me that new growth springs from the roots and foundation of my old growth. This is the case with all of my growth, not the least of which is my growth as a photographer. 🙂
  371. double rainbow over denver skyline
  372.  The coolest hing I’ve photographed is the backcountry areas of Joshua Tree NP. I love that late in the afternoon when the sun sinks low, things start to happen. Color erupts, rocks go from gray to golden yellow, dry desert plants go from dull gray to rich, deep green, a washed sky turns deep blue, those white clouds pick out a palate of color to display. And if you really spend time paying attention, the desert provides unlimited texture amongst the rocks, plants, and shapes.
