The AF- Custom Settings are one of the most powerful autofocus features on the Fuijfilm X Series cameras, because they allow you to fine tune how the camera sees and reacts to your scene when shooting fast action and moving subjects.

In my latest video tutorial, I show you detail how the AF-C Custom Setting system works, how to adjust the three main parameters, what each of the 5 presets do, and how to use them to best capture your subjects.

I also let you know which are my favorite AF-C custom settings presets, and I show you how to configure the system to best match the subject matter you like to shoot.

This setting first appeared on the X-T2, and it’s included on nearly every single X Series camera since then, including the X-T30 and X100V.

As an action and sports photographer, I find this to be incredibly useful tool, and one that clearly demonstrates Fujifilm’s dedication to make very high performance cameras that are suitable for handling the fastest action and sports shooting tasks.

If you like to photograph things that move, whether it’s sports, action, adventure, wildlife, birds in flight, race cars, motorcycles, airplanes, or your children, grandchildren and energetic puppies, then I think you’ll find this to be a very useful lesson.
